Mechanical Lead – Data Centres – Sweden
We are currently partnering with an international construction company with operations in Ireland, Germany and Sweden. Their impressive and ever-growing portfolio includes commercial, fit-out, data centres, biopharma, industrial warehousing, retail, residential, healthcare, conservation and education projects. Due to their continued growth, they are actively seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead to join their team in Sweden.
Responsibilities
Project Planning and Coordination: Develop and implement a comprehensive mechanical project plan, ensuring that all mechanical system installations, including HVAC, ventilation, and other mechanical services, are aligned with the overall project schedule. Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
Design Review and Value Engineering: Review mechanical system designs to ensure they meet the project’s functional, operational, and regulatory requirements. Work with the design team to suggest cost-effective and performance-enhancing solutions, while ensuring that quality and safety standards are upheld.
Contractor and Vendor Management: Manage the procurement, selection, and coordination of mechanical subcontractors and suppliers. Ensure that contractors adhere to technical specifications, deadlines, and quality standards. Resolve any issues that may arise with the installation or performance of mechanical systems.
Budget and Cost Control: Oversee the mechanical portion of the project budget, including cost estimation, tracking, and managing any changes or variations to the scope of work. Ensure the mechanical systems are completed within the allocated budget, maintaining quality and performance standards.
Risk Management and Issue Resolution: Identify potential risks related to mechanical systems, such as design or installation issues, delays, or system malfunctions. Proactively address problems and implement mitigation strategies to avoid disruptions to the project schedule and budget.
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting: Serve as the main point of contact for all mechanical-related communications between the client, contractors, and other project stakeholders. Provide regular progress updates, address mechanical system performance issues, and ensure that the mechanical systems are delivered in line with the project’s goals and timelines.
Requirements
Bachelors degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 5 years plus experience in a site-based MEP role-Experience working on hyperscale Data Centres
